Tim Osyk Named CVSR’s 2015 Volunteer of the Year
CVSR is pleased to announce that Tim Osyk was named the 2015 Volunteer of the Year. Osyk has been a CVSR volunteer for 14 years and has contributed 6,000 hours. Osyk became interested in volunteering at CVSR when he met other volunteers at a train show.
Osyk has volunteered in a number of roles at CVSR from brakeman, engineer to even playing the Grinch at the North Pole during The Polar Express. As an experienced engineer, Osyk trains other engineers and volunteers on operations and safety procedures.
Osyk has been an active member of a number of programs for the CVSR Volunteer Association (CVSRVA). He has served as past Vice President for the CVSRVA for three years and continues to serve on the safety committee and communications committee. In his role on the communications committee, Osyk speaks and represents CVSR at train shows and other community engagements.
Osyk was nominated by fellow volunteers for having demonstrated sincere commitment to the success of CVSR and exceptional leadership.
“I’m very honored to be considered for this award by such fantastic people and great volunteers,” said Osyk.
Osyk was presented with the award during a volunteer appreciation dinner on Saturday, Feb. 27. Osyk is a retiree and was previously employed at the Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills, OH. He is a current resident of Stow, OH.
