Hale Farm Explorer
Travel by train to this premier collection and property of the Western Reserve Historical Society! Located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Hale Farm & Village is an outdoor living history museum. Here you will experience daily mid-19th century life depicted through dozens of historic structures, farm animals, heritage gardens, cooking presentations and demonstrations of Early American crafts and trades. You’ll board the train at the Akron Northside Station then a tram will meet you at the Indigo Lake Station, where you will travel to historic Hale Farm & Village.
Ticket Information
Ticket includes train ride, and admission into Hale Farm & Village. All passengers ages 3 and up need a ticket. Children 2 and under do not need a ticket but must sit on a parent’s or guardian’s lap throughout the trip.
- Ticket Prices: Adults $33, Children (3-12) $21
- Seating is in a Coach Car and general admission.

Hale Farm Excursion Times - Akron Northside Station
June — August | Wednesday through Sunday
September — October | Saturday & Sunday only
Departs at 10:00a.m. from Akron Northside Station and returns to Akron at 2:30p.m.
- 10:00 a.m. – Depart Akron Northside Station
- 10:40 a.m. – Arrive at Indigo Lake*/ Hale Farm
- 1:50 p.m. – Board train to head south to Akron*, then return back at Akron Northside Station
- 2:30 p.m. – Arrive back at Akron Northside Station
*A tram picks up passengers at the station and takes them to Hale Farm then returns passengers to their train boarding location.

Service Animal Policy
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), CVSR does accommodate service animals on board the train. Only dogs that are trained service animals will be admitted to board the CVSR train. Pets and other animals not considered service animals will, under no circumstances, be allowed to board.
