PENINSULA – A renovated train car for children will be added to the National Park Scenic Excursion trips to provide fun and facts for riders.
The Edu-Trainment Car was open for public viewing Oct. 5. Public Relations Manager Katie Brewer said they think it is the first interactive children’s museum on train rails.
The railcar will be on the National Park Scenic Excursion trips and is free to ticket holders to visit during their trip from Oct. 16 through Oct. 27. It will return to the National Park Scenic Excursion trips in 2020.
“The ride is a long one for kids, and they can come to the center train car and play with toys and learn about the park and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad,” Brewer said.
Passengers can roam from car to car and pass through the Edu-Trainment car. Although the activities are for children, adults and older children can learn about the park from some of the educational information, Brewer said.
