CVSR Announces New Preservation Fund

CVSR Announces New Preservation Fund

A key part of CVSR’s mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is maintaining and preserving our historic railroad cars. This preservation work is time consuming, expensive and requires ongoing care. CVSR will be establishing a “Preservation Fund” to help support the safety and integrity of our heritage rail equipment.  Effective July 1st 2017, a “Preservation Fee” of $1 per train ticket will be put in place to ensure that this fund is available for expected and unexpected capital expenses.

The “Preservation Fund” will not be used for general operating expenses. CVSR will continue to rely upon ticket sales, fundraising and other revenue streams to support the day-to-day operations of the railroad.

The $1 Preservation Fee will be applied to the cost of each ticket regardless of whether they are purchased at the train stations, on board, online or by phone. It applies to all tickets, with the exception of Bike Aboard!
