CVSR Recognized with Seven Seals Award

The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is proud to support our veterans and active military. Each year, we have the privilege of providing free train rides to veterans, active duty military and their families on Veterans Day.

This year, CVSR was honored to receive the Seven Seals award, which is presented by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) in recognition of significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission, to include the efforts of the more than 4,500 volunteers who carry out ESGR’s mission across the Nation on a daily basis.

President & CEO Craig Tallman and Kim Gillan-Shafron, vice president- marketing & community alliances were invited to ride along on a Boss Lift, refueling trip at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base on Thursday, October 6 by Chaker Fadel, retired US Air Force officer and CVSR volunteer.

“We were honored to be invited and participate in the ESGR flight yesterday. The ESGR program encourages employers to hire military veterans and active military reservists and guardsmen. CVSR will continue to encourage all military families to consider CVSR volunteer and employment opportunities,” said Tallman.

CVSR thanks ESGR for this wonderful opportunity. CVSR is happy to continue the tradition of providing a special Veterans Day Ride on November 11, 2016. For tickets and information, please visit cvsr.com/special-events.
