Earth Day Science: Owl Pellets

Tickets for upcoming events from March through April will go on sale on December 7 at 9:00 a.m. for members. Tickets will be available to the public on December 14 at 9:00 a.m.

These short, interactive train rides are perfect for the whole family. Dive into the science of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on this Earth Day ride! Scientists from the Great Lakes Science Center will guide you through the hands-on dissection of real owl pellets. Discover the owl’s diet and habitat by exploring the evidence they left behind. “Scientist” ticket includes your very own dissection kit with a unique owl pellet and all the tools needed to complete this study. Dissection activity is recommended for ages 8 and up. “Assistant” tickets do NOT include a dissection kit and are intended for a passenger that is accompanying a scientist.

At a Glance: 

  • 1.5-hour round-trip excursions
  • 12:30 p.m. departure from the Peninsula Station
  • Tickets range from $32 per person
  • Children 3 and up need a ticket. Children under the age of 3 do not need a ticket but must sit on a parent’s or guardian’s lap.
