Hale Farm Excursion

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad excursions and railroad facilities are operating with strict stringent safety practices and procedures including more frequent sanitation, the wearing of masks, implementing physical distancing and operating trains at no more than 50% capacity to improve employee, volunteer and guest safety.

Hale Farm Excursion

Travel by train to this premier collection and property of Western Reserve Historical Society! Located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Hale Farm & Village is an outdoor living history museum. Here you will experience daily mid-19th century life depicted through dozens of historic structures, farm animals, heritage gardens, cooking presentations and demonstrations of Early American craft and trades. You’ll board the train at the Rockside Station then a tram will meet you at the Indigo Lake Station, where you will travel to historic Hale Farm & Village.

Hale Farm Excursion Times - Rockside Station

9:00 a.m. – Depart Rockside Station
10:00 a.m. – Arrive at Indigo Lake/ Hale Farm *tram picks up passengers and takes to Hale Farm
2:10 p.m. – Board train to head south to Akron, then return back at Rockside Station *tram returns passengers to train boarding location
4:30 p.m. – Arrive back at Rockside Station

Hale Farm Excursion Times - Akron Northside Station

11:00 a.m. – Depart Akron Station
11:30 a.m. – Arrive at Indigo Lake/ Hale Farm *tram picks up passengers and takes to Hale Farm
2:10 p.m. – Board train to head south to Akron,
2:20 p.m. – Arrive back at Akron Station

Service Animal Policy

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), CVSR does accommodate service animals on board the train. Only dogs that are trained service animals will be admitted to board the CVSR train. Pets and other animals not considered service animals will, under no circumstances, be allowed to board. With the recently announced changes to local, state, and CDC COVID-19 masks protocols, we want to remind our guests that CVSR falls under Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations and guests, volunteers, and staff are required to wear masks until further notice when on the train and at any of our facilities despite local and state regulations.
