Important Reminders When Purchasing Tickets for THE POLAR EXPRESS™

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ train ride, presented by Countertop Solutions, returns for its 25th year at Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad from November 10 – December 21. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, October 3 at 9 a.m. To make your purchasing process more efficient we’ve compiled a few reminders to keep in mind before you purchase your tickets for the North Pole:

Know Your Desired Date—And Have a Few More

The day tickets go on sale your first-choice date may be sold out. CVSR recommends to have a few other dates in mind, and make sure to coordinate with other groups that you plan on riding with. Please be aware that there are two departure stations for every day (Rockside and Akron Northside). Some ticket options, such as First Class, Executive and Suites, are only out of one station. Create a Whistletix Account

To purchase tickets you will need to login via a Whistletix account. We recommend setting up your account before tickets go on sale (click here). Simply enter your email address and create a password. If you need assistance creating an account, Whistletix customer service can be reached at 1-877-944-7849.

Have Your Computer or Mobile Device Ready

Tickets MUST be purchased online only. CVSR will not process any ticket orders over the phone for the duration that THE POLAR EXPRESS™ tickets are on sale. If you do not have access to a computer or internet connection, we suggest going to your local library or using a friend/family’s computer.

On October 3, we expect to have more than 35,000 people on our website looking to purchase tickets for THE POLAR EXPRESS™. CVSR would like to stress the importance of going directly to Whistletix via this link:[PE], to search for tickets. Bookmark it, email it to yourself, or copy it to your notes so you have it handy when it comes time to purchase tickets!

Triple Check Your Order

We know it can be tempting to click through as quick as possible but please review your order carefully prior to entering payment. Important things to check: departure date, departure station, ticket type (coach, first class, etc.) and number of tickets. Unless you’ve purchased the Refund Protection, tickets are non-refundable.

Purchase the Ticket Refund Protection

All tickets are non-refundable upon purchase without the purchase of Refund Protection offered at checkout. With the purchase of Refund Protection, CVSR must be notified at least three days prior to the scheduled trip. Your tickets will not be refunded if you cancel the day-of. Tickets are not refunded due to weather. Refund Protection is a $15 charge. The total cost of tickets will be refunded minus the $15 fee. Note: Refund Protection is not required but recommended.

Print Your Tickets

Please print your tickets and have them with you on the date of your departure. CVSR staff will be unable to print tickets at the station. Electronic tickets cannot be accepted. At checkout, there is also the option of picking up tickets at will-call.

Contacting Customer Service

Please be patient when calling our customer service team for assistance the day ticket sales open. In past years, CVSR has received more than 3,000 calls within the first day of sales and anticipate that this year. Please allow up to 24 hours for our office to return your call. If you have any questions about ticket options, seating, the Refund Protection Policy, or anything else, contact our customer service team in advance of October 3.
