Thomas the Tank Engine won’t return to Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Thomas the Tank Engine will not be chugging his way through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park this year.

And no, the Troublesome Trucks are not to blame; it’s progress that has derailed a beloved family tradition on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

The soon-to-be-completed $6.75 million Boston Mills Visitor Center at the corner of Riverview and Boston Mills roads in Boston Village is the culprit. The new center makes it logistically impossible to handle the number of visitors who attend the annual event, which includes rides on a giant version of the beloved train from the children’s stories.
