Locomotive #6777 Rebuild

In Mid-2015, CVSR embarked on a project to rebuild its locomotive #6777, with a goal towards reducing fuel and oil consumption, along with emissions.

Some major highlights of the rebuild include the following:  Prime mover overhaul, fuel injection system, turbo, wiring, air brake upgrade, Auto-start, new wheels and traction motors.

As of mid-March, the project is currently in the re-assembly phase.  All other components have been refurbished and are awaiting installation.  The next major milestone will be the re-installation of the prime mover, scheduled for the first week of April.

Final component installation will happen in late April, followed by road testing in early May.  Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates!
