Travel Through Time with the Hale Farm Explorer

Experience the nostalgia of traveling by train to a living history museum! Hale Farm & Village is an outdoor, living history museum with historic buildings, costumed educators, a working farm and period arts and crafts. Our Hale Farm Explorer train ticket includes admission to the museum and will take passengers directly to Indigo Lake Station, where a shuttle will be waiting to pick passengers up and take them to Hale Farm & Village.

At Hale Farm & Village, you will experience daily mid-19th century life depicted through dozens of historic structures, farm animals, heritage gardens, cooking presentations and demonstrations of Early American craft and trades.

The Hale Farm Explorer excursion departs from both Akron Northside Station and Rockside Station. The full schedule can be viewed on the ticketing page. Tickets are valid for a round trip on our National Park Scenic Train Ride and valid for admittance to Hale Farm and Village. Tickets for Hale Farm Explorer can be purchased here.

For a special day of fun travel by train and experience the past and present farming lifestyle come to life at Hale Farm & Village’s Sow and Grow Farm Festival on June 9-10. See live Draft horse demonstrations, Oxen talks, wheel plowing a garden, beekeeping (from the Summit Beekeepers Association), and explore the gardens on the property maintained by the Great Lakes Brewing Company and the Bath Gamma Garden Club. The festival also features chicken keeping talks, sheep shearing, fiber dying and much more! Your ticket includes a round trip train ride and admission for all activities at Hale Farm & Village. All passengers interested in extending their stay at Hale Farm and wishing to return at an alternate departure time, must walk the ¾ mile hill between Indigo Lake Station and Hale Farm & Village and adhere to the train scheduleFood service is available at Hale Farm & Village.
