Get Your Christmas Tree With CVSR

The holidays will soon be upon us, bringing Thanksgiving turkey’s and Christmas cheer. Are you ready for the hustle and bustle?

This year take a family adventure to get your Christmas tree aboard Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad! With our Christmas Tree Adventure excursion we’ll take you out to Heritage Farms in Peninsula to pick out your perfect tree. Climb aboard the train for a ride to our Peninsula Depot, where you will deboard and take a bus to Heritage Tree Farm. At the farm, you can leisurely take your time picking out a perfect tree. After your purchase, the bus will take you back to Peninsula Depot where you’ll board the train again and head back to your station of origin.

And the trees? They’ll be tagged and loaded into our baggage car and then safety transported on the train back to the station. If you found your ideal tree quickly, the bus will return you to the Village of Peninsula for a little early holiday shopping at one of the unique shops around town!

This year, make picking out a Christmas tree fun for the whole family aboard the train!

Timing of Excursion (varies based off station)

Rockside Station
8:30 a.m. – Arrive at Rockside Station
9 a.m. – Train departs from Rockside Station
9:35 a.m. – Deboard at Peninsula Depot. Take a bus ride to Heritage Farms
You’ll have just under 1.5 hours to pick out your tree. 
11:10 a.m. – Board the bus to head back to Peninsula
11:25 a.m. – Reboard the train, head back to Rockside Station
12:30 p.m. – Arrive at Rockside Station

Akron Northside Station
10:15 a.m. – Arrive at Akron Northside Station
10:45 a.m. – Train departs from Akron Northside Station
11:35 a.m. – Deboard at Peninsula Depot. Take a bus ride to Heritage Farms
You’ll have just under 1.5 hours to pick out your tree
1:15 p.m. – Board the bus to head back to Peninsula
1:35 p.m. – Reboard the train, head back to Akron Northside Station
2:30 p.m. – Arrive at Akron Northside Station

Seating is in our coach car. Tickets are in sections of four, with two seats facing two seats. Ticket includes train ride and transportation to Heritage Tree Farm. Tree cost is not included in your train ticket. Your tree will be bundled and taken to the train by Heritage Tree Farm. Please bring additional gear for securing your tree to your vehicle at the station. You are responsible for ensuring that you arrive to bus pick up and drop off at designated times. Tree cost and farm activities are NOT included in your ticket. CVSR would like to stress to dress appropriately for the weather!
