Buffalo Trace Six Millionth Barrel Bourbon Fundraiser
In 2019 CVSR was selected as one of 400 non-profits across the country to receive Buffalo Trace Distillery’s charitable offering of limited-edition bottles. The bottling is from the distillery’s 6 millionth barrel of bourbon.
To raise funds for CVSR’s Preservation Fund, a Bourbon Tasting event will be held on Thursday, April 23. Guests who attend will be entered into a drawing to win the right to purchase the Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is aged 10 years, 11 months, and packaged in a numbered collector’s edition hardwood box, which includes a piece of the charred oak stave from the historic barrel.
The event will include a welcome cocktail (courtesy of The Spotted Owl), four samples of bourbon, heavy appetizers, and a two-hour train in the historic Rail Diesel Car (RDC). Bourbon samples included in the tasting are listed below.
- Calumet Farm Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey, Single Rack Black | Rack: O2403.08, 19 Barrels
- Jefferson’s Reserve Twin Oak Custom Barrel | Bach No. 8, Bottle No. 03524
- New Riff Single Barrel | Barrel No. 15-6530
- 1792 Small Batch
Tickets are $250 each with all proceeds benefiting CVSR’s Preservation Fund, allowing the railroad to continue to provide historical and educational experiences.
The tasting departs from Rockside Station at 6 p.m. and will arrive back at 8 p.m. Seating is limited to 32 guests and tickets will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. Ages 21 and older.
