Kick Off 2022 with These CVSR Events

Happy New Year! 2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Opening weekend is coming up quickly, with a fun-filled weekend starting Friday, January 21!

The fun begins with the first ride of the season on the Cleveland Dinner & Event Train, presented by Cascade Auto Group, and we have excursions throughout the whole weekend!

The Cleveland Dinner & Event Train is home to several excursions, from Grape Escape and Ales on Rails to Murder Mystery. During opening weekend, we are offering three different events to enjoy this Friday night.

Dinner on the Train

All aboard one of our California Zephyr cars, including the Silver Lariat and Silver Bronco for a night out! An intimate elegant setting where you can enjoy a four-course meal made by our executive chef. Paired with our complimentary bar service, it will be a perfect night!

This excursion departs from Rockside Station at 6:30 p.m. on January 21. You can view the menu here. This ride is only for passengers ages 21 and older.

Cocktails on Rails: Winter Whisky

A lively evening out on the train enjoying cocktails and light appetizers. Take advantage of an exciting night out with friends or make it a date night!

Murder Mystery

If you are looking for a new kind of game night, look no further! Murder Mystery gives you the chance to uncover clues and find out which suspect is the guilty party. On Friday, the theme will be Fitness Can Be Murder, but the theme will change each trip. Due to high demand, this event has sold out since starting this blog. But, don’t worry the next Murder Mystery will be on February 18 and the theme will be Oscar Madness!

This excursion departs from Rockside Station at 6:30 p.m. 

After a full Friday night, our trains will be back on Saturday and Sunday for more rides and excursions that the whole family can enjoy!

National Park Scenic Excursion

This train ride highlights the beauty of the winter landscape of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park while staying in a warm train car. Experience our National Park in the winter on a ride on Saturday or Sunday!

The train ride lasts approximately three-and-a-half-hours, and passengers can board at Rockside Station, Peninsula Station or Akron Northside Station. 

Family Fun Loop

Are you craving some quality family time? Join us on Saturday for Crafts & Bingo on a train ride through the valley filled with crafts and laughs! Don’t worry about bringing any supplies; we have it covered. If Sunday is a better fit for your family’s schedule, we have Furry Friends; a train excursion that is the perfect mix for any family. The kids will have an opportunity to build one of three stuffed animals: Sloan the Seal, Ollie the Owl, or Penny the Polar Bear. Enjoy a half-loop train ride while building an artic new friend!
