Fundraiser Donation Request

The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) is committed to supporting nonprofit organizations that align with our mission of providing educational, recreational, and heritage railroad experiences. Each year, we receive numerous requests for ticket donations to support purposeful charitable causes and events every year and we appreciate you for considering us. While we strive to accommodate as many as possible, we must adhere to specific guidelines to ensure fairness and maximize our community impact.

Submission Process

Donation requests need to be submitted online by completing the form below or by submitting a letter to: CVSR, PO Box 158, Peninsula, Ohio 44264
All requests must be received at least 60 days prior to the event date.

 Nonprofit Status

• The requesting organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and provide a valid tax-exempt ID number.
• Priority consideration given to nonprofits that directly support education, conservation, underserved communities, heritage preservation, and humanitarian causes.

Use of Donations

• A detailed written request must include the date of your event, purpose, and how the donation will be used. Incomplete requests will not be considered.
• Ticket donations are intended for fundraising efforts (e.g., auctions, raffles) and not for individual use or operational support.

Limitations

• CVSR cannot donate tickets for special event rides. (e.g., Steam in the Valley, Ales on Rails).
• Your organization is only eligible to receive one donation per calendar year.

Other

• Special priority to businesses and organizations in Cuyahoga, Portage and Summit counties.

Groups that Cannot be Considered

• Political campaigns and parties.
• Hate groups, extremist organizations, and any organization that participates in discriminatory practices against targeted populations.
• Organizations that do not align with CVSR’s mission, values and ethics.
• Individuals/individual families.
• For-profit corporations.
• Individuals seeking personal financial support.

Guidelines for Distribution

• Approved organizations will be notified via email with pickup instructions.
