Sit back as the train weaves through Cuyahoga Valley along the rushing Cuyahoga River. Passengers may catch a glimpse of CVNP’s variety of wildlife including an eagle’s nest, deer, blue heron and other natural habitats. Traces of the Valley’s industrial history, such as the Ohio & Erie Canal can also be seen.
Trains will run Saturdays and Sundays from March through April, Friday through Sunday in May. Passengers can board at Rockside Station, Peninsula Station or Akron Northside Station. See below for departure times and station locations.
Passengers can choose from a variety of seating options including coach, tabletop or executive. Tickets range from $13 – $38. Scroll down for seating pictures and details!
No outside food or drink is allowed on the train. An onboard café car is available offering concessions.

We will not be running any trains on Sunday, April 9th, 2023, in observance of Easter.
Below ticket prices do not include delivery and preservation fees. Tickets can only be purchased online or by visiting the depot prior to boarding. Tickets are unable to be upgraded once on board. Ticket includes a 2.5 hour round trip train ride. Each ticket is valid for one (1) round trip. Children under the age of 3 do not require a ticket but must sit on an adult’s lap.

Seating is in a coach car with blocks of four (two seats facing two seats). Seating is general admission with no seats assigned.

Our Round Trip ticket out of Rockside Station is a continuous round-trip experience. With this ticket guests can stay on for a 2.5-hour ride or have the option to deboard in Peninsula for a 1-hour break to eat lunch and shop in the historic Village of Peninsula.

Our Round-Trip ticket out of Akron Northside Station is a continuous round-trip experience. With this ticket guests can stay on for a 2.5-hour ride or have the option to deboard in Peninsula for a 1.25-hour break to eat lunch and shop in the historic Village of Peninsula.

Senior Discount
Passengers ages 55 and older are eligible for a $2 discount on coach seating on weekdays between June and September. They will be listed as a separate “Senior Coach Ticket” option when purchasing tickets.
Northeastern Ohio Inter-Museum Council Discount
Fellow members of the Inter-Museum Council (IMC) receive up to four (4) scenic coach tickets on any regularly scheduled National Park Scenic train. They must show their employee badge or membership card to receive the discount. Only redeemable for walk-up.
Military, Veteran and First Responder Discount
Active military, veterans, first responders, and correctional officers receive one (1) complimentary coach ticket on any regularly scheduled National Park Scenic train on Thursdays between June and September. Up to three guests may receive 1/2 price tickets as well. Discount only applies to coach tickets.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), CVSR does accommodate service animals on board the train. Only dogs that are trained service animals will be admitted to board the CVSR train. Pets and other animals not considered service animals will, under no circumstances, be allowed to board.
