All Aboard the National Park Scenic Excursion

The National Park Scenic excursion is a three-and-a-half hour roundtrip through Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Sit back and relax as the train races along the rushing Cuyahoga River. Seating options include: coach, table top, first class, upper dome, or executive class. Tickets range from $15 – $35 per person.

IMPORTANT NOTICES: On September 20 and 27, the train will only run the first two loops and there will be NO NATIONAL PARK SCENIC excursion on September 21, 22, 28 and 29 due to Steam in the Valley.

Boston Mills Station is CLOSED throughout the 2019 season. However, the current Boston Store will remain open during construction of the NEW visitor center.

Seating Options

Below ticket prices do not include delivery and preservation fees. Tickets can only be purchased online, by phone or walk-up (upon availability). Ticket includes a 3.5 hour round trip train ride. Each ticket is valid for one (1) round trip (only a coach ticket is an all-day pass). Tickets cannot be upgraded on board. If you choose to ride in one of the other cars and deboard the train, your seat in this section will NOT be guaranteed upon re-boarding, and you may be directed to sit in coach.

Children under the age of 3 do not require a ticket but must sit on an adult’s lap. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable without the purchase of Refund Protection offered at checkout.

PLEASE NOTE: The Special Ticket Options: Executive Class, Upper Dome and First Class are ONLY available for departures from Rockside Station and Akron Northside Station. Coach Seating is available at all three stations.

Coach All-Day Pass

Price per ticket: $15 adult | $10 child (Ages 3-12)
An all-day pass! Passengers may get on and off the train at various stations throughout the day based on the train schedule. Seating is in a coach car with blocks of four (two seats facing two seats). Seating is not assigned.

Table Car

Seating in a vintage dining car. Seats are sold individually from sections of four-top dining tables and chairs. Seating is assigned.

Silver Bronco

First Class

Price per ticket: $23 adult | $18 child (Ages 3-12)
Seating in the first class section of the Silver Lariat or Silver Bronco. Seats are sold individually from block sections of four (two seats facing two seats). Each section features a table. Seating is assigned. *Please note: This car is not ADA accessible and not recommended for passengers with mobility issues. It does require walking through other cars. 

St. Lucie 1

Executive Class

Price per ticket: $35 adult | $30 child (Ages 3-12)
Seating in our Saint Lucie Sound lounge car. This car offers comfortable padded seats and a spacious lounge area. Ticket includes one (1) muffin and one (1) non-alcoholic beverage. Seating is assigned. *Please note: This car is not ADA accessible and not recommended for passengers with mobility issues. It does require walking through other cars. 

Winter Silver Bronco with Tables

Upper Dome

Price per ticket: $28 adult | $23 child (Ages 3-12)
Seating in one of our upper dome observation cars. Passengers experience a bird’s-eye-view of the National Park under a panoramic, glass enclosure. Seating is assigned and chosen from block sections of four, with two seats facing two seats. Each section offers a table. *Please note: This car is not ADA accessible and not recommended for passengers with mobility issues. It does require walking through other cars. 

Senior Citizen Discount

Ages 55 and older receive a $2 off on an adult coach ticket price on the National Park Scenic train on weekdays (Wednesday – Friday) between June and September. Discount only applies to coach tickets.

Policies

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), CVSR does accommodate service animals on board the train. Only dogs that are trained service animals will be admitted to board the CVSR train. Pets and other animals not considered service animals will, under no circumstances, be allowed to board. Please carefully review our Service Animal Policy for more details or contact our customer service team at .

Military, Veteran and First Responder Discount

Active military, veterans, and first responders receive free coach tickets on any regularly-scheduled National Park Scenic train on Thursdays between June and September.  Up to three guests may receive 1/2 price tickets. Discount only applies to coach tickets on Thursday.

Discounts are redeemable only at CVSR’s ticket stations (Rockside Station, Peninsula Depot, and Akron Northside Station).  Please arrive 30 minutes before departure.  Proof of age, membership card, or military/veteran/first responder status must be shown.

Follow along the route with the CVSR Train Tracker app! Download the app for free on Google Play or the Apple Store. This app allows you to follow the train, view the train’s current speed, heading and even listen to audio clips as you bike along.

Members Ride Free

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad members receive access to complimentary tickets when you show your membership card at the ticket booth. Requests for tickets can be made online as well with your membership ID number. When picking up complimentary tickets you MUST present your membership card.
