Earlier this Spring, the 765 Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive transported us to a bygone era, offering a stunning glimpse into the history and romance of rail travel. This extraordinary experience encapsulated the essence of what the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) strives to provide every day—a celebration of heritage, recreation, and education within the stunning landscape of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Ohio & Erie Canalway.

In order to continuing moving full steam ahead, we need YOU. CVSR is more than just a railroad; it’s a vital thread in the fabric of our community. From educational programs that teach children about local history and ecology, to scenic rides that bring families together, to community partnerships with organizations that rely on our trains for events and adventures—CVSR fosters connections that resonate deeply with everyone it touches. For example, a local family once celebrated a wedding aboard our train, creating a timeless and personal moment. Each year, we welcome groups who make CVSR a cornerstone of their annual traditions, including schools whose field trips inspire students with hands-on learning experiences and breathtaking views of the National Park.
