Experience the magic of Christmas on board the train

Here at Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Christmas means something special to us. It’s a time of year where all hands are on deck to create fun-filled holiday themed excursions for families. We’re thrilled to be bringing back the popular Christmas-themed excursions Mr. Jingeling’s Holiday Jubilee and Christmas Tree Adventure!

Mr. Jingeling’s Holiday Jubilee | November 17-18 and 24-25 

We invite guests to climb aboard the train to enjoy an entertaining ride with Santa’s no. 1 elf, Mr. Jingeling! Mr. Jingeling is the official “Keeper of the Keys”, appointed by Santa Claus himself as a reward for saving Christmas when Santa lost the key to his Treasure House of Toys. Mr. Jingeling brings the magic aboard as he sings Christmas songs with the group and even shares stories of his life at the North Pole! Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children (ages 3 to 12. Kids under 3 ride free on a parent’s lap). Departs from Rockside Station at 9 a.m. and from Akron Northside Station at 10:45 a.m.*The program will last for an hour and a half of your approximately three hour round trip.

Christmas Tree Adventure | November 24 and 25

This year take a family adventure to get your Christmas tree aboard Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad! With our Christmas Tree Adventure excursion we’ll take you out to Heritage Farms in Peninsula to pick out your perfect tree. Climb aboard the train for a ride to our Peninsula Depot, where you will deboard and take a bus to Heritage Tree Farm. At the farm, you can take your time picking out a perfect tree. After your purchase, the bus will take you back to Peninsula Depot where you’ll board the train again and head back to your station of origin. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children (ages 3 to 12. Kids under 3 ride free on a parent’s lap). View the timeline of the excursion. Departs from Rockside Station at 9 a.m. and from Akron Northside Station at 10:45 a.m. *Price does not include Christmas Tree.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the concession car during all train rides. We recommend arriving at the train station 30 minutes prior to departure. All tickets are non-refundable upon purchase without the purchase of Refund Protection offered at checkout.
